Other World Computing (OWC), a leading PC and Mac technology company, has announced a new 1TB storage capacity for its Mercury On-the-Go Pro portable hard drive.
The OWC Mercury On-The-Go Pro is a 2.5 inch portable and pocket-sized hard disk drive with a cool and simple design that offers 1TB storage capacity.
It is enough to store the equivalent of 1,000,000 JPEG photos, 500 DVD movies, 76-hours of digital video, or 350,000 MP3 songs.
The portable hard drive is FireWire 800/400 and USB 2.0 bus powered, has 8MB of cache memory, it can deliver a data transfer speed of 100MB/s and is bus powered so it can be used without an AC adapter.
The OWC 1TB Mercury On-The-Go Pro will be released on October 15th 2009 in three versions. The USB only version costs $300 but with USB and FireWire 400 costs $330 and with USB+ FireWire 400/800 costs $360.
