Dell Latitude Z notebookDell has announced the official debut of its new Latitude Z-series of ultra-thin business laptops.

Their latest flagship business laptop is named the Dell Latitude Z 600 and has a 16 inch screen that can display a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, face recognition, and a multi-touch trackpad. The notebook weighs 4.4 pounds and is only 14.5 mm (0.57 inches) thick.

The most important innovation that Dell brings to the Z-series is the wireless charging.

This is done with the help of an inductive pad that is plugged into the standard power adapter. The laptop is set on pad and instantly begins charging.

When buying the Dell Z 600 laptop you have the choice of 2 processors which include an Intel Core 2 Duo running at 1.4GHz or a 1.6GHz processor. The laptop combines a Core 2 Duo CPU with a second one: ARM-based processor, to allow working with a network without booting into Windows.

The standard are 2GB RAM upgradeable to 4GB, a 4-cell battery , an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD. Also included: Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11a/g/n, a 2-megapixel camera ,a fingerprint reader, a contactless Smart Card reader, two USB ports, and an Ethernet port.

Prices for the Dell Latitude Z start from $1,999 upwards.
