Do you use your laptop for browsing the internet and an occasional movie? Then don’t buy the Lenovo Thinkpad 700. This is a monster!
What do you think when you see a notebook with the starting price of $3000? That you have an over-achiever in front of you. Well, this one is the annoying over-achiever notebook type.
This 17″ beast has a Wacom digitizer built-in to the right of the track pad. It is meant to offer a configuration that fits like a glove any graphic artist or photographer. The professional display WUXGA has a n auto color calibration sensor and 400 nit brightness, which is rarely seen on a laptop.
As for the guts of the machine, we have a small 3GHz Quad Core Extreme CPU, a shy NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700, a few GB of DDR3 RAM (8 of them), dual hard drive bays configurable as RAID 0 or 1 and a Blu Ray burner. That’s the fully kitted version.
As minor details we have 5 USB ports, 7-in-1 card reader, full number pad (yes, the notebook is that big) and the display outputs include Dual-Link DVI, VGA and display port, but no HDMI.
